Privacy Policy

Last updated September 10, 2026

This policy describes CyberProtectDNS Browser Security, the CyberProtectDNS Windows agent, and the management portal. The extension and agent are intended for organization-managed devices. Your organization selects the policies applied to its devices and controls administrator access to its portal records.

Questions about this policy or the extension can be sent to support@cyberprotectdns.com. For a website exception, your organization's monitoring practices, or a request concerning its records, contact your organization's administrator. Support can help identify the appropriate contact.

Information Handled By The Browser Extension

The extension handles attempted website URLs within the browser to display block pages and return a tab to its requested destination after approval. It retains temporary navigation state in memory and browser session storage. Domains involved in policy evaluation are sent to the local Windows agent.

When you submit an access request, the requested domain and the reason you enter are sent through the agent to the management portal, where authorized administrators can review them. Avoid including passwords, payment details, health information, or other unnecessary sensitive information in the request.

The extension creates a random browser-profile identifier and reports that identifier, the signed-in browser profile email when available, organization-managed installation state, browser type, extension version, installed extension inventory, applied policy version, rule count, and connection/status errors through the agent to the portal. When an organization enables activity monitoring or SaaS discovery, it also reports bounded 15-minute counters and domain names associated with browser navigations, downloads, and blocked actions. Full URLs, query strings, page titles, filenames, file contents, prompts, credentials, and page content are not collected for this reporting.

AI And Data Transfer Controls

Configured AI restrictions intercept supported paste, drop, and file-selection interactions. The extension does not read or transmit clipboard text, file contents, prompt text, or page content. These restrictions are policy controls, not sensitive-content classification, and they do not cover every possible transfer method.

Windows Agent And Portal Data

The Windows agent separately handles DNS requests and can report DNS/security events and device inventory to the management portal. Organization-level configuration controls collection settings. This broader agent activity should also be explained in your organization's employee or device privacy notice.

Purposes

Information is used to enforce organization-defined website and AI restrictions, process access requests, show protection status, and diagnose security or connectivity problems.

Recipients And Service Providers

Authorized administrators for the managing organization can access its portal records. The hosted portal uses Vercel for application hosting and Supabase for database services. These providers process information as part of delivering the service. Google distributes the Chrome extension; Microsoft distributes an Edge version when published, subject to their respective store privacy policies.

Storage And Requests

Applied policy, status, and the profile identifier are stored locally in the browser. Temporary navigation entries are removed on observed tab-close events, and browser session storage is cleared with the browser session. Portal records may remain after uninstalling the extension or agent.

Contact the managing organization or support@cyberprotectdns.com to request information, correction, or deletion concerning your records. The appropriate response depends on which organization controls the records and applicable obligations.

Changes

This policy will be updated when product information handling or service providers change. The current version is published at https://cyberprotectdns.com/privacy.
